Crane Trolley Wheel Set

A wheel set refers to mechanical equipment composed of wheels, axles, bearings, bearing boxes, etc.

**Definition of Wheel Set**: 

The main forms of wheel damage are wear, crushing of the hardened layer, and pitting corrosion. Wheels are generally made of ZG430-640 cast steel. To improve the wear resistance and service life of the wheel surface, the tread should undergo surface heat treatment, requiring a surface hardness of HB300-350 and a quenching depth of no less than 20mm.

**Purpose of Wheel Set**: 

For crane wheel sets: The horizontal deflection value of wheels in the crane running mechanism is an important technical parameter of the crane. Excessive deflection will cause rail gnawing, increase running resistance, generate vibration and noise, accelerate wear of rails and wheels, and greatly reduce the service life of the crane. Therefore, the manufacturing technical conditions of various cranes specify allowable values for wheel horizontal deflection.

**Structure of Wheel Set**: 

In applications, controlling the horizontal deflection value of wheels in the running mechanism mainly involves adopting corresponding technical measures according to different product structures. A commonly used design structure with relatively simple technological measures is: assembling wheels onto a bracket to form a wheel set (such as angular bearing box wheel sets and trolley-type 45° split bearing box wheel sets), which is installed on the main structure of the crane, adjusted to an appropriate horizontal deflection, and then fixed.
